Crape Myrtle Pruning: Much of the crape myrtle pruning that you see around town is wrong. Your pruned crape myrtles should not look like this photo!! There is NO need to top them or do major stalk reduction. All you need to do is remove competing limbs from within the canopy so that the tree can grow free!

Weeding: It’s about that time in Charlotte when many broadleaf weeds like to show their ugly faces! Don’t worry! You can use a selective herbicide to stomp them out. Check your local garden center for the appropriate treatment (be sure to read the instructions on the manufacturer’s label).
